Gabriel Balarabe Ishaya is a community educator and survivor-advocate working at the intersection of sexuality, pleasure, and healing. Drawing on lived experience of sexual violence, he creates trauma-informed, sex-positive spaces that reclaim consent, embodiment, and joy through collective care.
Healing Circles is a community-based project that creates safe, facilitated spaces for collective healing, rest, and joy. Through guided conversations, reflective practices, storytelling, and gentle embodiment, participants process emotional fatigue, grief, and burnout while reframing pleasure as a legitimate and restorative part of wellbeing. The project challenges harmful narratives that glorify exhaustion and silence emotional vulnerability, particularly within community and faith-based spaces. Healing Circles centres collective care, consent, and lived experience, offering a replicable model that affirms pleasure as both healing and justice.
